Gabrielle Chanel was born in 1883–1971 to a laundrywoman, in hospital for the poor. Father vendor who peddled work clothes and undergarments travelling to market in different towns. At 11 mother died 32 fathers sent sons to work as farm labourers and daughters to an orphanage, a religious order for orphaned girls. It was a frugal life, demanding strict discipline. At age eighteen, went to a boarding house for Catholic girls. Where they learned to sew, finding employment as a seamstress. In 1918, Chanel purchased the building in fashionable districts of Paris by 1921a fashion boutique and By 1927 owned five more.

In World War II, Nazi provided Chanel with the opportunity to gain fortune control of Parfums of Chanel, e.g., Chanel No. 5. Partially owned by Wertheimers who were Jewish by petition German officials to legalize her claim to sole ownership.
