The painting of water is something that painters do. It is for some an obsession and claim to fame. Now in reflection at the time of painting water there is no consistent methodology or study of the issue. No conscious attempt at capturing its true nature. This might have occurred if it was the only subject of the work like Claude Monet and where to think consistently about it rather than just as one aspect of a painting. Looking back over my attempts to capturing its nature, at some point I will make it the primary character rather than simply a supporting one. The only painting that it has plays an equal role is the painting called Ocean Wave. In the process of painting, this work used The Great Wave Off Kanagawa woodblock print by the Japanese Ukiyo-e artist Hokusai for inspiration. Did not really capture the finger like nature of the wave edge.
