Asked for a ukulele for Christmas a few years ago and have enjoyed learning and play it. Took piano lessens as a child but did not practice. With this instrument there was no expectation placed internally, or externally, and singing was a crucial part. The whole process became much simpler and immediate. Not concern myself with mimicking other singers of the songs. Many of the pieces are traditional music, so personal interpretation is a national part. So play it and sing it until it sounds good to me or Is fine.
