Majorettes At Rest Between Performances

Their life is a parade of events, not of their making.

These Majorettes are marching, twirling batons in front of a crowd of people. As a warm-up act for a sport that is played by boys, something they consciously choose, are they trapped in some other world not of their making? Maybe one day they will escape? Will they suffer on through, deluded by the shiny lights of their manufactured world?

Painting by Chris Dale, Inspiration came from an American-born photographer, Chadwick Tyler, who worked for many years as a fashion photographer.
