American Exceptionalism
The photographer Chadwick Taylor did a series of images around America, its heartland dream. In the painting American Exceptionalism, the subject is unaware, or unwilling to admit, that it’s an illusion crated through movies and advertisements deluding themselves of a sense of freedom, honour, and belonging. If you look from outside, there is no freedom, they are trapped in the side, self-repeating the same pattern, which is that revolutions are becoming shorter, almost appearing to be standing still.
