With modern sun worship frozen in its gaze, water is a sacrament from the blazing, a presence that is necessary for the ritual to be truly completed. Suntan a sign of health and beauty runs of course completely contrary to the actual health of human skin but this idea of persists regardless. Meanwhile, it is propagated through the retail sale of products to protect yet also allowing tanning at the same time, maybe this is why it has not stopped as a practice.
