Old Toothbrushes
The first toothbrush resembling the modern found in China during the Tang Dynasty (619–907) came from hogs living in Siberia; the colder temperatures provided firmer bristles and handles from bamboo or bone. With his long history, why not give the Old another life? A toothbrush for cleaning the teeth, gums, and tongue is made up of a head with tightly clustered bristles to which toothpaste can be applied; this is mounted on a handle for accessing hard-to-reach areas of the mouth. This activity is frequently accompanied by some form of floss or taped clean between the teeth.
