Dalai Lama
The title, given by the Tibetan people to spiritual leaders, is one of the major schools of Tibetan Buddhism thought. They are reincarnate and fallow custodians of a specific lineage of teachings, having been trained as incarnations by students from a young age.
Since the fifth and seventeenth centuries, it has stood for Buddhist values and traditions. Their religious authority extended beyond sectarianism; they are a unified symbol of the Tibetan state. By bringing together diverse religious and regional groups to overcome sectarian and other divisions.
Tibet was rejected by both the Republic of China and the People’s Republic of China. The spiritually headed Tibetan government has lived in exile since 1951.
