Shirts Tucked In

I thought it odd that in this situation of certain death, the prisoners have all their shirts tucked in before they are shot by a firing squad. Is this a requirement or something they request?

The idea that somehow grooming the men before all of them are executed gives the act a legitimate basis that it would otherwise not contain, a sense of ceremony that serves to ease the responsibility of the participants.
