Malcolm X, 1925–1965, was a human rights activist during the civil rights movement. He grew up in foster homes or with relatives after his father’s death and his mother’s hospitalization. Went to prison in 1946 for breaking and entering. In prison, he found the Nation of Islam. After parole in 1952, he advocated for Black empowerment and the promotion of Islam and became influential leaders.
In the 1960s, Malcolm X began to grow disillusioned with the Nation of Islam, and throughout 1964 he was repeatedly sent death threats. 1965 was assassinated, it is still unclear as to all the parties involved.
