Ceramic Swan

In Chinese mythology, the swan is a “fairy” that flies towards the sun and glides back, bringing the human world. In folktales, a young man steels the swan’s magic feathers robe so that she will not fly away, so he can marry her.

Myths are adapted to local contexts, with subtle changes that preserve the original structure or prototypical elements of the Sky-Maid’s story. Expressing anthropological or ethnological explanations for their gods and celestial phenomena.
