
Decided to begin to paint again after many years away. So rather than expose myself to all those colors though, to limit them to black and white. Painting like this for a while, calling them monochromatic. These five are one of the first I did. Others were created at later dates with limited colors.

Girl Face Annoyed
The image was of a young girl, but what was interesting about the face was the expression of time. A young face is flat without lines. They crept in overtime.

Old Home Diamond Shawl
After many years away from painting, I started with the most familiar brush and canvas, with a monochromatic palette. This is part of a group of black and white paintings of women I did as a way of getting back into painting. Its inspiration came from a series of photo of people in old age homes.

Young Fair Of Face
This is the last of black and white women’s faces. Have run out of this size of canvas, so will now end this particular theme. They look good together. What might be able to lose the Old Home diamond Shawl, seems a little outside.
