Hang me oh hang me origin might have been called ‘My Father Was a Gambler’ first seen in printed versions found in a collection in 1917 from Minnie Doyal of Arlington, Missouri. This version was quite different, and didn’t have the “I’ve been all around the world” tagline. Has also been called to the “Scaffold To The Grave”.
